Our Mission Statement:
The Gals for Cal is a group of women connected through friendship who are dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).  Our primary focus is to promote awareness of DMD and to improve all aspects of the lives of children with DMD by raising funds to be allocated to medical research, clinics, and adaptive activities.  In doing so, we aim to inspire others to get involved and experience the friendship,  strength, inspiration, commitment,  physical fitness, and achievement that is the spirit of the Gals For Cal. We take pride in challenging ourselves while challenging Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy together.

Our Vision:
In 2 years, the Gals have gained a strong momentum and have given Duchenne a presence where it was never before. In addition, we have had very successful fundraising campaigns which have helped fund very promising research and clinical care. We aim to continue those efforts as well as hope to begin funding special adaptive programs for improving the quality of life of these boys, like sailing, skiing and swimming opportunities. We hope to inspire others to "live large" by challenging themselves while challenging the #1 fatal genetic disease diagnosed in childhood for which there is no treatment or cure. We envision a very near future when Duchenne no longer completely paralyzes our sons and allows them to live beyond their teens into a full adulthood.
